    4.6.1 / 1.4.02

Pressing delete just leads to ‘Deleting …’ showing until a page refresh and a banner at the top of the page:

Deletion failed: Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.

Is it safe to just zap the directory by FTP or is there stuff in the database (which I have no phpmyadmin access to unfortunately).

    Thanks.

    Addendum:

I have now tried to check the delete database option in the settings, but I still get the same error message.

    Hi lnikj,

You can just zap the folder in phpmyadmin.

The uninstall process works just fine, not sure why you’re having issues there.

Thanks for replying. It’s a strange one.

Nothing gets deleted from the folder. I have deleted it via FTP, reinstalled it via WP, and tried deleting it again in WP with the same results.

No problems with any other plugins.

    Strange one!

    Good Afternoon all,

I believe I may have fixed this one. First and foremost, apologies for the delay on this. Life has unfortunately got in the way. Will require you guys to take a look for sure, would you mind checking this update? it isn’t currently live, so, you will definitely have to download it manually…

    New Version: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/bbpress-improved-statistics-users-online.zip

Could you report back here to let me know if it has resolved your issues or not?

    – Jake

Jake right now the problem is not to install but to remove the plugin first. How can we remove it for re-install?

    Plugin Author Jake Hall

    (@geekserve)

    Hi @tronix-ex,

    1. deactivate the plugin
    2. delete all files from ftp
    3. upload new version
    4. reactivate plugin*
    5. deactivate plugin
    6. delete plugin within wordpress
    7. install as normal

That’s the best process to get things moving again. You may experience issues when activating the new version, but that should clear when you deactivate and reactivate the new one

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for your quick response, those steps successfully worked but unfortunately the issue regarding the post counts still there, I was re-installing this plugin to fix the post count issue but no luck.

    Hi,

This fix was for the delete issue. based on your reply, seems as though it has worked.

with regards to the post count issue, I am using functionality that is provided by bbpress. I don’t believe the issue lies with my plugin, can you potentially send me your WordPress database to [email protected]?

I can then take a look and see if I can resolve why it is happening.

The data will be securely deleted once I am finished.

    Hi Jake,

I understand my issue is out of the topic but yes the issue is still the issue. So! it doesn’t need any database for testing just migrate the site from 1 place to another and the postcount issue will be appeared.

    Thanks,
    Yasir

    Hi @tronix-ex,

First and foremost, this topic was originally created for the delete issue. This is what the recent patch was for.

With regards to the postcount issue, I have continuously explained that I am simply using bbpress functions – I have not created any new code for this, thus, the issue does not lie with this plugin.

I have, however, offered on multiple occasions to look into this, and have asked for forum database files. This is the only way I can look into it. I don’t have any test databases to hand to be able to test this with, hence why I am asking for those affected to provide one.

Please note this is a free plugin. Demands for me to do something, or, telling me what needs to be done is quite insulting given the amount of work I have put into the plugin.

With that being said, the issue to do with the outdated post counts should be posted in your own topic where I will take a look when I have an example to hand where this is happening. Please try to avoid hijacking other threads for entirely unrelated issues… it keeps it cleaner

    Hi @tronix-ex,

As I say, I am aware of the issue you have… it’s not just you, others have reported it too. Can you make sure you have re-run all of the tools within Tools > Forums > Repair Forums and let me know if it helps out at all.
