Using BadgeOS version 3.3 on WP 5.3.2. can’t disable Enable BadgeOS Email Notifications Under User Profile > BadgeOS Email Notifications. Out center has been using BadgeOS since 2013 and this has never been an issue. After one of the recent updates it either got added or enabled and we can’t reverse it. The same issue occurs across browser types and versions and WP users.

    Steps to recreate:
    1. Go to any user profile.
    2. Uncheck Enable BadgeOS Email Notifications under BadgeOS Email Notifications

    3. Click on Update User button at the bottom of the page
    4. Enable BadgeOS Email Notifications is still checked.

I would like to disable this setting on a user-by-user case. I checked two of our websites who use BadgeOS and I can’t disable this setting on neither of them.

Any suggestions on how I could disable it for some of our users?

    Hi @blaagrrrl

We have just released a new version of the plugin which has fixed this issue. Please update the plugin to the latest version.

    Thanks

The new version fixed it. I can uncheck the checkbox now. Thanks!
But an email is still being sent out after a badge is awarded.
This email is coming from [email protected]
It contains the badge image and credit and issuer details. Is this not controlled by the BadgeOS Email Notifications? Can I disable that email message for some of my badge recipients somewhere else? Btw, this [email protected] notification email landed in the spam folder on most of my email clients I tested.

    Hi @blaagrrrl

Badge award email is sent by the Credly so there must be an option in Credly profile settings to disable it. You can also contact credly support for this option.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your answer.

Under “BadgeOS > Credly integration” I can set the introduction paragraph of that very email in question under “Credly Notification Settings > Custom notification message”. So why isn’t it possible to disable that email from BadgeOS?

I looked under my Credly profile on credly.com and don’t see an option to disable it from the Credly platform.

    Hi @blaagrrrl

We have looked into this and found an API option to disable the credly notification. We will add this in next update of the plugin.

    Thanks

That is great! Thanks so much for considering adding the option for disabling the notification email. When is the new version slated for release?
