• Hi. Disabling this plugin leaves me with a site that retains the (now disused) fake directory names, so various images are not showing up. I have checked in the page code that this is the issue.
I am using Thrive Themes on latest WP and have also tried disabling the cache. Even the back-end CSS is corrupted without this plugin being disabled.
    Thanks

    Hi Keith,
This should work fine, when disabling the plugin all links should revert, as the plugin does the changes on the fly so nothing is actually saved on the server.
I see you use a CDN service, once plugin disabled, did you tried to clear the site cache? Also the CDN cache too?

    Thanks

    Hi there. Thanks for responding.
I actually tried all that today. Until yesterday I’d been using Nitropack. I suspected caching to be the problem absolutely believe you. However, I am not using a CDN other than in Nitropack, so when I disconnected that, made sure I had no other cache running and cleared my browser cache I expected normal operation, which it was not.
I’ve reenabled the plugin for now and reenabled nitro.
If I turn up more info I’ll post here, but you’ve told me what I needed and that the plugin is not the source of the problem.
    Sincere thanks

Just a final note for you for reference. Today I again disabled your plugin, disabled cache, switched off all cache technology (nitropack) and checked my site. A whole host of images were missing, being attributed to the url created by your plugin. In the end, I went through my whole site and changed them back manually and then delete the plugin. Please accept that I am not doubting your veracity – I am simply stating my experience. As an indicator, I can also tell you that I became aware of this problem my checking on browsers on which I was not logged into the site even though I had cleared the cache on my normally used browser.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Keith,
    Thanks again for your feedback.
Can you send a sample of such wrong image URLs ? Also what you used as custom through the plugin settings? Do you remember when starting the plugin, it was a couple of years ago or recently?

    Thanks

You are most welcome. I have now cleaned up my site so there’s not a lot left but I can still assist. I have created this new page a couple of days ago:
    https://sydneybusinessweb.com.au/q4-business-websites-offer/
Earlier today I replaced images that were not showing in my editor but did appear to be appearing on the site.
So on the page above, doing GTMetrix measurements, I noticed delays due to some images that do not exist, such as this:

https://sydneybusinessweb.com.au/totujub/2020/10/ocean.jpg – you will recognize the folder referenced totujub as created by your plugin.

This happens with no cache, nitropack disable – just the site.

The interesting thing is that the images referenced ocean.jpg is not used on that page at all so the theme is calling it from previous use.

I think this comes down to a conflict between Thrive Themes and your plugin?

    All the best.

Well now, of this doesn’t blow your mind, I’d be surprised. I use Thunderbird email and have some html for signatures.

I have not touched that for a year.

A few days ago, I realized that my photo, which is fetched from my website media library, was missing from my sent emails. So I looked at the html. What did I find? – The image address in the html in Thunderbird account had been changed to your directory ‘totujub’.

Now this seems impossible to me – beyond reason but I swear I am sober and competent!
    Have a great day.

Please don’t worry – I appreciate your offer but I have everything under control and I do not blame you. I am just giving information to help you. I just do not understand how even the image address in my thunderbird changed.
    Have a great day
