    Hello,
I have been using duplicator for some time quite happily. Recently I have been facing a problem with downloading the archive file. This happened after I recreated my primary domain from a duplicator archive and applied SSL.
Now when I create a new package the process runs fine and I am shown the download page. The installer downloads fine. But when I click on the archive link or the one step download link either I get a message that the package was not completed or I am taken back to my home page.
When I go the cpanel file manager I find the package and other backup files in the snapshot folder.
What might be happening now to prevent the downloading?
I am using WordPress 5.2.2 and Duplicator Version 1.3.18.
    Thanks.

I just found that one of my addon websites (cloned with duplicator) had 1.3.18. Created new package with it and it downloaded without any problem. I then updated the plugin to 1.3.20 and repeated the process. The new archive created also downloaded fine.
So the problem is with my main website where I had made many changes recently. I will do some cleaning up and will try things out again.
Sorry for troubling the Duplicator group. Hope others can find a solution to their problem.
    Thanks to all.

With me its diferent. I found out the problem is in the current version of Duplicator.

Before downloading a previus version. I tried again to make a new packege. It created the new package, but could also not download the archive file.

So I used the link you gave and downloaded a previous version (1.3.14).
Before install deleted all previus packages and removed the current version from my site. Then I installed the version 1.3.14. ativated, create a new package. And it worked well. Could download both files without any problem.

For me the issue lies with the latest version of duplicator. I had the same problem, installer downloads but archive fails. I reverted back to the previous version and everything worked fine.

    Hi @erinkc, @winnerwarrior, @srujanika, @kusatra, @bozzmedia

There is now an update for this issue. If we can get someone to help test this version on their hosts we will be able to get this next version out more quickly.

The next version (1.3.22 – 2019-09-11_8:00) can be found by following these instructions:

    – download: https://github.com/lifeinthegrid/duplicator/archive/master.zip
    – Uninstall your current version and install this one.

Let me know if this solves your issue~

    Thanks~

    Hello,
    1. Deactivated Duplicator on my main site but could not delete it from the plugin page – got a message that the plugin cannot be deleted when it is active on the main site. But I am working on my main site (primary domain). I deactivated on the single addon domain but still could not delete it fron either the main or the addon domain.
    2. Renamed the duplicator folder through cPanel
    3. Downloaded the master.zip and uploaded to the plugin folder and extracted the contents.
    4. Renamed the Duplicator_master folder to Duplicator.
    5. Tried to activate Duplicator on the plugin page, but got the message:

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot declare class DUP_Constants, because the name is already in use in /home/smxcveyr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/duplicator/classes/class.constants.php on line 3”

    What to do next?

    Thanks.

    Hey @srujanika,

The fact that it would not let you remove the plugin seems to be the stem of the main fatal error. Maybe ask your host why you are unable to unsuccessfully delete the plugin altogether. I would try to get that process solved first if possible… Right now it looks like the plugin is being called twice for some reason based on that error message.

    Hope that helps~

    Thanks, Cory.
As I had mentioned in my earlier reply, I had traced the problem to my installation. Still I tried out the new version with the hope of a solution. I will try to sort it out with the hosting people.
Still a general question – could the problem have anything to do with SSL? Because I noticed it soon after applying SSL. Is there any special approach to transferring sites having SSL with Duplicator? I do not use any plugin for SSL. Anything beyond what is given in the faq (I have looked through it)?
Of course I am not sure it is due to ssl.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil

    Hello,
Everything now works fine with the latest version of Duplicator (1.3.22).
    Thanks for the good work.
    Nikhil

    Thanks for the update @srujanika!

I had the same issue. Read this thread and then checked with my host…it was a download permission issue. It’s not an issue with Duplicator.
