I have the latest PHP and everything else is updated to the latest version. Still I encountered the following on two different sites yesterday and today.

Package is created without any problem. Package can be downloaded without any problem.

But when I click on the installer.php file, the browser says “Invalid request.” and blank screen otherwise.

I click on Back, arriving to the package build page. I go back to the packages list. No package is listed, but it says “1 item”.

If I try to build tha package again, the same thing happens.

This time, still no package in the package list, but it says “2 items” now.

I’ve tried on different websites, I’ve tried to deactivate all the other plugins, but no success.

So far Duplicator worked like charm, so it must be the latest update.

There is a screenshot of the package list here:

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    Moni

One more thing to add: I’ve checked the backups-dup-lite folder by FTP, and there is no sign of any installer.php file. So that’s the problem: Duplicator only creates the archive file, but not the installer.php file.

    Hey @pagonymedia

Thanks, Cory, but the problem is that there is no installer.php file to download. I’ve checked it by FTP. Duplicator did not create the installer.php file whatsoever.

    Hey @pagonymedia,

Yeah, it seems like your server environment is having issues creating the file. There should be a backup copy of the installer inside the archive.zip file. As to why it’s not getting created on your system I’m not 100% sure, if you want us to have a closer look at your setup we typically can isolate the issues. You can use the link above to reach out so we can have a closer look…

    Thanks

Thanks, Cory, in the meantime I’ve found the copy of the installer file inside so I could migrate my site.

    But it’s strange – always worked before…

I submit a support ticket for you to try to find the problem so I can modify my server settings.

    Thank you,

    Hey @pagonymedia,

Ok thanks for the update, someone should be getting with you sometime this week.

    Thanks~

Hello! I have exactly the same error. Did you manage to solve your problem?

    (@pagonymedia)

Unfortunately not. They say it must be something with the server but it’s the same server, nothing changed, and still – no installer.php…

I have same error (in multiple server environment). I can download the files from the server (and rename the installer.php), I think the plugin is broken.

They still try to figure it out. My ticket is not resolved yet. I will post it here when we have the solution.

BTW the installer WAS generated. But it has a “.bak” extension. The reason for this is for security (so a hacker can’t just navigate to the installer.php and run it over your website). And the problem is that the “Packages all” screen is not properly reading out that data. They don’t know why. Still in progress.
