Oh.. How is your WordPress site hosted? It is self-hosted? Or do you use the service of a provider? In the later case, which provider?

Hello, I am receiving this error as well.

An error occured: Cannot download JSON file at https://realfavicongenerator.net/files/6350c48f7708e7f2fc2f60aba6a79b30a01dacd0/json_result.json: Connection time-out.

I can still download the file and generate a favicon from your site but when I use the plugin, I would receive this. Please help.

I am using the service from https://siterubix.com/ and it hosts WordPress on it’s server.

I can still download from the URL and generate a favicon from your site directly. I got this error using the plugin. Please help.

    Hi Anh,

    Sorry for the issue.

The fact that you can download from this URL directly seems to show that the problem is from the hosting solution. Maybe they prevent plugins from accessing an external server.

I advice you to contact their support team and describe them the issue. The plugin tries to download a JSON file through wp_remote_get. Note: all files are deleted from RealFaviconGenerator after a few hours. For example, the URL you gave in your message doesn’t work anymore. So if you give them this URL, warn them about this or they will come back to you saying “but your URL doesn’t work anyway”.

If you get an answer, could you please paste it here? I’m always curious to know how hosting companies handle this kind of request.

I close this issue. Don’t hesitate to re-open it if there are new elements.
