    Hi, newbie to WordPress here.
Am unable to edit the custom made theme files except for
    the style.css
I would like to make changes to Manage >> Files >> Header.php
but the file is in non-editable mode, though I have admin rights.
Can someone highlight if this is possible, and if so, how can I go about it.

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Go onto “presentation” then click “theme-editor” then select “header” from the right that should work, let me know how it goes.

    Hi xdesi,
    thanks for your reply.
I did check the theme-editor, and when I selected
the respective file for editing, the file was loaded
as non-editable. Then I realised that I need to change
the permission for the files under the control panel.

Just realised this, as being a newbie.

Many thanks anyway for your reply.

Hi I too am a newbie and feeling it!!
I have the same problem and i do not know where “to change
the permission for the files under the control panel”? Please help!

    Thanks

Under cpanel, open file manager then browse to the folder containing the file and right button click on the file. A menu will open, select change permissions.
