• I have been using WordPress for 4 years, so I’m not new and know what I’m doing – however as of this morning when I go to try to edit an existing post, after I hit “Save” or “Publish” for a post that was already created WordPress will not save any of the changes and the post will revert back to how it was before I started editing. We have multiple users and authors, so I’ve tried other accounts as well and no account can see to edit any of the existing posts on the site.

Also – For some reason when I go and create a new post I am able to save, publish and edit the post.

  • Hi,

I have the same problem from yesterday.

I wasn’t able to edit some draft posts and pages. When I edit them, I lost all my work, because the post it’s the same before I the edition.

Even I tried to delete that post, but when I send it to the Junk Folder, It doesn’t work.

I would like to understand what it’s the problem.

    Thanks,

Ok I fixed it, for now at least. No idea what caused it but it looked like the database was corrupt. I’ve seen quite a few other posts on here the last few days about this so it must be some kind of bug.

Repairing the database in phpmyadmin seemed to do the trick, only takes a second – https://php.about.com/od/mysqladministration/qt/repair_mysql.htm

    Hi kfleming,

I found some resource to solve this problem, I hope that this be useful for you: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/edit-post-weird-behavior?replies=3

Yes in my case it wasn’t the cache but ended up being errors with the Database, it looks like a few people who are using Hostgator are experiencing this same problem, so if you are try repairing through phpmyadmin in your cpanel – or you can try to have your host repair it.

I can confirm that repairing the databases through phpmyadmin @hostgator works to resolve this problem. Glad i found this thread; it was getting quite aggravating!
