    I am the administrator for this wordpress site, and recently can not edit pages or posts. I get the message ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.’

    I can add pages and posts, browse categories and edit widgets and everything else, but cannot work out why I cant edit existing content in pages and posts.

    I have read through the forum and tried the following:

    -disable all plugins
    -rename theme folder
    -force database upgrade
    -amend wp_capabilities in my user_id to a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}
    -create new administrator

    any assistance would be great

    hi

    esmi thanks for that post.

    i ran through everything, but still cannot resolve.

    it is strange that i can log in and access everything except for current post and current pages.

    this leads me to think that once something is posted, then the issue occurs – or the place in which the posts are stored is not accessible by admin. In any case, i am not sure where to look next.

    assistance please wordpress gurus.

    many thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
