    When I click on the arrows next to the Text Widget , it does not open and I can not edit / change the code.

    This is happening on all of the pages that I use this plugin.

    Just updated to 4.8 WordPress yesterday.

    Please advise.

    The latest version now lets me see and edit the text.

    However, this new version opens up the Text widget in WYSYWIG mode and when I switch to Text mode to edit the text which contains some PHP code, the code is modified automatically (eg. > is replaced by &gt).

    The older version of the plugin did not do this.

    Any idea of how to prevent this from happening?

    Thanks for your help.

    @jjanicik,
    Text widget does not allow you entering php code, it will convert <?php ?> to special characters for showing as text. Same behavior with Tiny editor in post/page editing. So this is not a problem of our plugin.
    Please use https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/php-code-widget/ for php code in text widget.

    php code is working on our site https://image.prntscr.com/image/cGOl7CG2TteWoxM3h_mmDA.png

    @aleksandrklever,
    Can you clear cache and check again? Other users also confirmed that our plugin is working and we think the problem is on your end.

    The older version of the plugin allowed me to enter and edit PHP code in a text widget.

    I have installed PHP Code Widget and can now created and edit using your plugin.

    However, I can not edit the code in the Text widgets that I have already created in the past.

    Can you tell me where the Text Widget contents are stored in the MYSQL database.

    I would like to query the database to get my code out and then paste it into a PHP Code widget.

    I would suggest easier solution that you copy your installation and downgrade WordPress and copy from that clone over to production.

    I am comfortable and efficient working directly with the database.

    A lot of times, plugin data is stored in the wp-options table in a text array.

    Can you just give me a the table and any necessary field filters to get to the storage area for your plugin?

    Thanks.

    Hello,
    clearing the cache did not help. Reinstalled WP – did not help, disconnected other plugins – did not help, reinstalled the plugin – also did not help. What else can i try?

    The problem is solved! Plugin Symple Social Icons was the reason!
    Thx))
