• Hi, I was wondering if I’m the only one for whom the “export data” URL in the email sent by the GDPR plugin, doesn’t work.

I get an email with the URL as: https://yeoldemagicmag.com?type=export-data&key=k8xxxxxxxxxxxxQ7&[email protected]&format=xml but when I click (or navigate…) to the URL, I’m not presented with any download, but I navigate to a “hidden” page (https://yeoldemagicmag.com/downloads) – a page that is not defined either as my home page, or that is linkable on the site. Of course, the same thing happens with format=json. I can see the same behaviour on different browsers (Chrome, Firefox), and with the user logged in or not (in this case, I would expect the user to be prompted to log in).

I’m using WordPress 4.9.5 and Easy Digital Downloads 2.9.1, and I’m on GDPR: 1.4.4. My PHP Version is 7.1.17.

As a side note, it would be welcome to have the body of the emails sent by GDPR editable as HTML in the front-end, to allow them to be styled as required.

Any help will be welcome, many thanks.

    Hi @marcop68,

I just tested it here: https://gdpr-wp.com/privacy-policy/ and it seems to be working just fine.

My recommendation is that you disable your plugins and change to a default theme and start enabling one at a time until you find what plugin is causing the problem.

You are incompatible with Easy Digital Downloads (https://easydigitaldownloads.com/). As EDD is the core of my e-business, your plugin is not working…

I’ve contacted the EDD team too and hope you will be able to find a solution.

I’ve got a similar problem. I tested the form to dowload my data and the link sent to me sent me back to my site. There was no data download. My site is https://www.johnglostersmith.com. I’m using a Mac. Plugin is version 1.4.5. Browser is Firefox but the same happened in Chrome. (I’ve also tried as a test to download my data from GDPR Privacy Policy page and that came up as an error saying user not known: this may or may not be relevant!)> I’ve also emailed you about this.

@marcop68 Can you link this topic to this plugin author? He might know why this is the case.

Can you send me credentials to test? [email protected]
Please explain in your email what your issue is or link back to this topic so I know who you are and what I’m looking for.
