The main site in a sub-directory install will need to use a modified permalink structure, potentially breaking existing links.

I want you to pay attention to that one for a second ??

IF you’re okay with all the links on your main site moving from domain.com/2011/11/18/postname to domain.com/blog/2011/11/18/postname then you can do this.

Don’t worry about uninstalling or cleaning out WP. You don’t need to do that because you did not have an existing NETWORK install, just an existing WORDPRESS one.

Now. Turn on MultiSite. Get it all set up as SUBDOMAIN (I know, shhh), and DO NOT make any sites. Once you’ve done that, which includes adding in all the lines to your wp-config.php file, you should see the SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL one.

Thank Ipstenu for your help. I have follow your instruction and done it successfully. I didn’t see the SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL becauses i didn’t dare to install the network (because i see the warning so i was confused).
After clicking install, i see the SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL line in my wp-config.ph file.

    Thanks again
