• Hello,

I am a newbie and have just managed to install, but when I log in to the dashboard I see the following message:

Warning: require(/websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/wi/g_/we/wig-web.co.uk/public_html/blog/wp-includes/SimplePie/Misc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/wi/g_/we/wig-web.co.uk/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 5

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/wi/g_/we/wig-web.co.uk/public_html/blog/wp-includes/SimplePie/Misc.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php52/share/pear:/usr/local/php52/share/php’) in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/wi/g_/we/wig-web.co.uk/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 5

The Misc.php is there in the right place, so I cannot see why it isn’t found. The filename is in lower case so I changed it to match the query but still get the error. I tried downloading WordPress again and re-uploading the wp-includes directory but still get the error. Has anyone got any ideas as to what I have done wrong to generate the error?

    Many thanks

    Tog

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
