• Hi, I cannot find mysql password. I use Networksolutions as a hosting provider. They have a page that shows how easy it is to find pass, user, etc. It doesn’t show (hide) in my admin panel. I have called them and they say it is because it was generated by WordPress and not by their server. Has anyone else has this problem or know where to look for it? I created second wp site to see what happens. A password was generated for the second sites mysql but not viewable in the admin panel. It is viewable on the wp-config.php file. But I am not creating a new database, rather trying to link an existing one to WordPress. Thanks for any info.Kevin

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

MySQL and MySQL users/passwords are handled by the server, not WordPress. You’ll need to contact their support again, and this time I recommend asking to speak with someone a level up over there.

They told me that open source apps generate their own passwords and will not be on their server? They said, if I had set it up on the server and created my own password and user it would show in the admin panel. Thanks for you reply, James.

MySQL is server software, it’s provided by your hosting provider. You’ll need to speak to someone there who knows what they’re talking about.

Please feel free to direct them to this thread.
