    Hi

I am using Yoast SEO to improve my website’s SEO. Yoast is telling me:

“Single title H1s should only be used as your main title, Find all H1s in your text that aren’t your main title and change them to a lower heading level.”

But search as I might, I cannot find more than 1 of them. When I remove the only <H1> I know about, the error goes away. Can anyone help me at all, please?

    Thanks

    Becky

    Hi @beckseden,

Since most themes already output the post or page title in the header of the post using an H1 header, the plugin will flag any H1s it finds in the content area as a duplicate H1.

This means that adding any H1 tags in the content area will result in the warning.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hi

Thanks yes, i understand that, but I have searched for the extra h1 i don’t want in the inspection panel and cannot find it, I don’t want it there. SO I would like to find it so I can change it.

Also, it’s only this one page that yoast tells me I have too many H1s on.If otehrs are ok in the same theme, why woul it be the theme – i.e. why woudl the theme add it to some and not others?

    Thanks

To locate additional H1s, please view the post or page on the frontend of your site and search the source code for <h1

If you are unsure how to view the source code, please review this knowledge base article: How To View The Page Source of Your Site

@beckseden We tried checking on the source code of https://www.chicmouldingscom/home/ but the site is currently returning an error (see image here).

Hi. Oh dear. That’s because I failed to put the . in the .com, isn’t it?

Checking the source code there is only one H1 tag. This means that the page builder you are using sends incorrect information which causes the Yoast plugin to return the message about having more than one H1 tag. Please report the unexpected behavior to the author or support team for the page builder you’re using.

In the meantime, you can safely ignore the message as the source code only has one H1.
