CANNOT Generate Thumbnails

    I cannot for the life of me get NGG to generate thumbnails in the gallery and therefore ONLY TEXT shows in the displayed gallery on the page. I thought perhaps it was because the server was running PHP 7.0 so I rolled it back to 5.6 and that still doesn’t work.

    Flushed the cache a dozen times. Nothing. I do the Create new thumbnails command from within the gallery settings and it looks like it’s working; the status bar goes up up up and I get the confirmation message, “Operation successful. Please clear your browser cache.” Clear the browser still no thumbnails. PLUS if you click on the text representation of any of the images, you get the error message, “The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.” This is making me crazy! What gives???

    @timelymanner1 – Please check your file and folder permissions for the gallery folder(s) you are using. These should be inheriting the same permission used in the /wp-content/ folder and respectively should be 0644 and 0755 for files and folders.

    Currently there are 403 errors being reported for the images which could be pointing to a permissions issue in your installation.

    Thanks so much for your help.

    Sure enough, the file permission for the ‘thumbs’ and ‘dynamic’ folders was 0750, as well as the ‘home-gallery’ folder, which is what I named this particular gallery.

    Do you know why the permissions would have been set to 0750? I don’t think it’s my host as I have other websites using NGG on BlueHost and this has never happened before…
