Cannot get blog posts to display on Lensa theme

  • I recently downloaded the Lensa theme and have been having trouble getting my blog posts to show up on the site.

    I have set it up in Settings->Reading to render on the blog page, but the posts won’t appear. If I set it for them to appear on the home page, it still does not work. I have spent a few hours trying to figure it out long with some googling, but no luck so far.

    When I switch back to the twenty twelve theme, everything is in order.

    I should also mention that if I put in the URL of the bog post, it render. I can then filter by month r year for example and see that te blog posts appear. But I cannot get them all to appear on the blog page or the homepage

    I was doing some googling and people mention the permalinks a little when discussing problems about blog posts not displaying. I have mine set to the website_name/blog-post-name.
    I’m not sure if this could be part of the reason or not.

    My site is https://www.thestrayphotographer.com I have the twenty twelve theme enabled at the time of writing.

  • Have you asked the developer of the theme for help? We don’t have access to commercial themes – one reason they are not supported on these forums.

    Sorry, I didn’t realise this theme wasn’t supported. It just that I was led here by other posts which I had found on a google search where people had had problems with this theme and asked here for help. Maybe things have changed since them posts were written.

    As for asking for support from the developer. It seems I have to pay for support, something which I haven’t done as I only grabbed a free theme.

    Generally, these forums only support themes from the repository on this site – though yes, people do ask and post about other themes. If someone happens along who knows about that theme, they might be able to help you, sure.

    But if that theme isn’t working, maybe you’d be best off finding one that doesn’t have problems from the start?

    Ok, I understand. Perhaps someone will stumble across this post with some ideas as to what to do.

    I would try a different theme, but I really like this Lensa theme. It would be perfect for what I want if I could just manage to overcome this issue.

    I had same problem as this.

    In the end what fixed it for me was to NOT set up my chosen blog page under Settings->Reading. I left that blank.

    Rather on the Edit Page screen of my chosen blog page, I set the Template (under Page Attributes) as Blog and the posts appeared!

    Hope that works for you and any others having the problem!
