Cannot get the new GTM debugger to work

    Hi,

    Thanks for the really great app. I currently use the GTM4WP plugin on three websites. However now I ran into the following issue. Google has changed their debugging screen for GTM and now the debugger runs in another tab instead of below the current window. In all three websites running WordPress & GTM4WP I get a message “Tag Assistant could not connect to a tag on xxx” However on another website where we have Squarespace & GTM the debugging screen works well, which leads me to think that the issue might be with GTM4WP?

    I tried changing the location of the GTM tag on the page (using the toggles in wp), with no luck.

    Is there a workaround?

    Got it to work after a lot of trial and error… Don’t know what got it working finally… For a while it would only connect if I activated the debug window from the small “debugger not connected” overlay on the site and the connection would be lost after one or two page loads. Now it seems to hold for more permanently…

    Hi @imilender,

    Unfortunately the new debug experience is still buggy, hopefully Google will address most of the bug quickly.
