    I installed WordPress on my server and used the Loopy Blue theme to get up and running. I then loaded up WordPress.com stats and entered the API key. It seemed to work and registered one visitor on the first day.

    Since, nothing registers. It would appear that no one is looking at the site–all this in spite of the fact that at least six folks have posted comments.

    What do I need to do to get the program to work?

  • I don’t use that plugin, but here’s a thought:

    Look in your theme’s footer.php. Right above </body>, make sure you see this:

    <?php wp_footer(); ?>

    Without that, plugins like wp.com stats cannot work.

    Thanks. Added that and it did not work but I also have decided to uninstall program so issue resolved. Thanks for your help.

    I have the same issue (not working).
    I entered that line of code in the footer, and still not registering any hits at all. Any other thoughts on this?

    I guess I needed to be patient. The footer fix did fix it, just took a bit before it started showing hits. All set now.
    Thanks.

    Stats doesn’t work for me either – and that code was already in the footer when I checked.

    Apparently no one was ever looked at my blog – but they leave comments anyway!

    Some links would be helpful….

    Check to see if you see a smily face in your footer.
