I have activated the option where members can choose if they want to be shown on the members list or not. To test I set my own profile to not be shown on the list, but this doesn’t seem to work and other members have the same issue. Since we are in the pre-opening phase of the website I have – for testing purposes – added one members list via shortcode and one via Elementor widget, with the same results.

Any idea where this might come from? Are there any settings I am missing?

    Thanks for your help

    Jenny

    Hello @miss-newyork,

Do you mean the “Allow users to hide their profiles from directory” setting on wp-admin > Ultimate Member > Settings > General > Account described here?

Users have to set the “Hide my profile from directory” setting in their Accounts to hide their profiles.

This setting influences only the Ultimate Member member directories. This setting does not influence Elementor widgets.

Note: Administrators can see hidden profiles. You should test a member directory as a guest or subscriber role to see a difference.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have checked the members list with a regular account instead of my own admin account.

On the list that I have created with the (ultimatemember form_id) shortcode I am no longer listed.

On the list I have created using the “Ultimate Member User Listings” widget for Elementor I am still listed. I had assumed that both listings are pulling from the same set of data.

It’s a bit of a shame, because I prefer the more minimalistic layout of the widget. Is there a way to change the number of columns that are displayed with the shortcode members list?

    Hello @miss-newyork

There are no Elementor widgets in the Ultimate Member plugin. Maybe a third-party plugin adds the “Ultimate Member User Listings” widget for Elementor.

Member directory layout is adaptive. The number of columns depends on the width. The member directory grid may display 1, 2 or 3 columns.

You can use a custom CSS code to set more variants. See How to change the number of members per row in grid view in Member Directory.
