Cannot increase # lockouts for “Notify”

  • I cannot increase the number of lockouts for “Notify on lockout” beyond the number set for “X lockouts increase lockout time to 24 hours”.

    I do not want to raise the number of lockouts before increasing the lockout time, as that compromises security. However, I am drowning in email notifications, and so would like to increase how many lockouts must occur before I get an email notification.

    Right now I am using the default “4 lockouts increase lockout time to 24 hours.” I cannot raise the Notification threshold beyond 4 unless I increase the above by the same amount.

    Is this a bug, or is there a reason for this limit that I do not understand?
