Cannot insert photos in post

  • When uploading photos to insert into a post, I get an error when trying to insert them into the post – as soon as I click on the ‘Insert’ button, in IE 9, I get:-

    “INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT READ THIS WEBPAGE FORMAT”

    On Firefox I get:-

    “Not Acceptable
    An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/media-upload.php could not be found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

    On checking, /wp-admin/media_upload.php is alive and kicking on the server.

    As this makes WordPress unuseable for me I would be grateful for any advice.
