Cannot insert product sale price as wanted

The regular price of one of my product variation is 1.80 €. Woocommerce does not let me insert sale price 1.40 €. Is says to me that the sale price has to be lower than the regular price, but it is! BUT everything is OK if the sale price would be for example 0.90 € (zero instead of 1 € – the same thing with other numbers – regular price 3.20 €, cannot set sale price to 3.10 € but it is OK if the sale price is anything under 2.99€)
Hopefully the problem is understandable.
