• We have been having issues with the free Wordfence plugin deactivating spontaneously every morning about the same time. Your website recommending deleting the plugin and reinstalling. I downloaded the latest from your website, then tried to install it. This is the message I got.

Hi @michelerbrown, thanks for getting in touch.

When considering plugin deactivation, especially if it’s regular like clockwork, I would certainly speak to your host about your experience if it happens again. Wordfence doesn’t do this by design regardless of server configuration and should stay activated unless you decide otherwise.

It sounds like they may have a scheduled task to disable Wordfence on their customers’ sites. Some do this for maintenance or PHP/server update purposes and occasionally don’t reactivate it by mistake, but some may deactivate it intentionally.

We will often work with hosts to ensure any perceived issues with our plugin can be investigated further in case there are problems on certain setups, or with resource allocation. Feel free to email the name of the host and the information they sent you to feedback @ wordfence . com (rather than here on the public forums), so our team can look into it further.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

We are using Wordfence in multiple websites with the same host, and none of the others are having this issue.

Also, I cannot reinstall it now. I provided a screenshot of when I tried to install. Can you help me with this part of the issue?
