    Hello,

I also have the same problem.

Just install the previous version for the github repository.

Hi @rohit3732 @lenglemetz – Thanks for the report! So far I haven’t been able to replicate this issue with Gutenberg 14.8.0 running on WordPress 6.1.1. As you see here, the link option is still present:

Add New Page Self hosted Test WordPress

Could you please both answer all these troubleshooting questions:

    • What version of WordPress are you using?
    • If you deactivate the standalone Gutenberg plugin, does the link button return?
    • Is the issue present with all your plugins temporarily deactivated? You can use the Health Check plugin’s troubleshooting mode for this, which will not change your live site – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ If the problem goes away, reactivate your plugins one by one (while still in troubleshooting mode) to find the culprit.
    • Is the issue present with a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Three? Again, you can use the Health Check plugin for this.

One more question – do you still see the link option on other blocks, like Image and Buttons, or is it missing only on the Paragraph block?

    I am using wordpress 6.1.1

I will have to test with the health check plugin. By the way I tried activating previous version too, 14.7.3, there is the same issue.

Issue started once I updated the plugin to 14.8.0 @zoonini

@rohit3732 Thanks! Please let me know the results of your testing, as well as the answers to all my other troubleshooting questions, when you’re able. The more information we have about how to replicate the issue, the better. Thanks!

@zoonini When I deactivate the standalone gutenberg plugin, the link button returns now. It works.

What should I do? Should I keep it deactivated and use it like that? I guess the wordpress 6.1.1 has default gutenberg editor, so that should work.

What can be my next steps? Keep the plugin deactivated? Will I get future updates ? If yes then how?

Please guide accordingly. Thank you so much.

Hi @rohit3732! Could you confirm if this issue is still happening with the recently published Gutenberg v14.8.1 update? You should be able to (re)activate and update the plugin from the plugins page. Thanks!

@rohit3732 @lenglemetz If you’re still having trouble adding links, please feel free to deactivate the Gutenberg plugin temporarily, as it’s not required to use the block editor.

The developers are currently working on a fix, which will hopefully be included in Gutenberg 14.8.2.

Gutenberg 14.8.2 has been released and should solve the missing-link issue. Updating to this version should fix the problem, so I’ll mark this thread as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if anyone has other questions or issues.
