Cannot load restored website

  • Hi all,

    I am using XCloner to backup a production website running on Linux Apache PHP onto my dev box = Windows 8, IIS8, PHP

    The Win8 environment is fine I have two other WP sites working fine

    Problem is that having completed the restore localhost/mysite/xxx.com was displaying a blank page, same with localhost/mysite/xxx.com/wp-admin

    localhost/sub1/yyy.com loads fine

    I switched on error reporting on iis8 and got this:

    Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\dutchbox\wp-content\plugins\gtrans\gtrans.php on line 40

    looking at the production site, gtrans is gtrans

    My question however is why do I get this error on win8 and not on linux but more importantly (I am assuming updating to latest will NOT fix the problem) what exactly is WP telling me and how do I fix it?
