Cannot locate theme folder

    Hello,

    I am trying to add images to the new theme I just uploaded to our old WordPress blog page, but when I go to my hosting accounts file manager I cannot seem to locate the new theme anywhere. I can see a couple of the old themes but not the new one, nor even the previous one (I did not set up this WordPress account, it’s been there for years).

    When I go to the file manager I can find blog/wp-content – in fact, there are TWO blog folders each with their own wp-content folders – but I cannot seem to locate the place where I just installed our new theme.

    I can edit the theme from the WP admin panel, and I can see that the file path of the image I want to change is:

    https://www.eclipsepc.com/blog/wp-content/themes/theme45298/images/dropcap_tail.gif

    But I absolutely cannot find that path in my hosting account file manager.

    Any help would be appreciated. I’m at the point where I would even do a clean WordPress install just to start over, though I’m unsure how to do that without creating the same problem.

  • I think you need to have a word with your hosts about this.

    Thanks, I’ll give that a try. Unfortunately they are VERY unresponsive.

    I’m sorry to hear that but we have no way of determining which blog folder is the correct one.

    Understandable. It feels like this should be self explanatory but I cannot for the life of me figure out why I can’t find the right folder. The WP blog page is up, I can see it, I can edit it, and I can see the file-path of the images I want to edit – but I cannot find that folder in my hosting file manager.

    I appreciate your help and will try to keep working on this.

    aHA! It looks as though the actual WP blog we are using was installed/created on a server in Kentucky and is handled there, NOT on our actual hosting account.

    I’m closer, but still not sure how to fix my myriad of other issues. We can mark this as closed now I suppose, thanks for trying!
