• When I try to log in to the admin page (nevadapbis.org/wp-admin), I get a blank page.

My site is still active, except for pages that are password protected. When users try to log in with their passwords, they are sent to a blank page.

I’m not sure if the two are related…

I have looked at multiple threads with steps to go through (like this one: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Login_Trouble). However, I am self-taught and really don’t have the skills to do anything past clearing cookies.

  • MrsKathrynMary,

Have you made any changes to your site lately? (Added plugins, changed .php files, etc.)

Have you tried FTPing into your site and deleting the .htaccess file? (Then if you can log on, you’ll need to go to Settings\Permalinks and resave. That’ll recreate your .htaccess file.

I have not made any changes lately. I don’t even know what a php file is. =)

Can you point me to instructions of FTP? I don’t have any experience with that.

Hmmm. Easiest thing, then is to go through your cPanel. (Where your site is hosted.)

Look on the cPanel for an icon that says Files underneath and open that.

In your root directory should be a file called .ftaccess. Highlight it, and click the red X (Delete) at the top. That should get rid of it for you.
