Cannot log in to wordpress

  • So I had wordpress running just fine this morning, then low and behold suddently I can’t log in anymore. Whenever I try to login and give the correct information it just clears the forms. However if I give incorrect information it tells me I am not using the right password or no password etc…

    What’s going on here? Anyone have any ideas of what may be the problem?

  • Hermannjr, don’t have an answer to your question but a related one that I’d like to piggyback. I loaded wordpress ok, imported my blogger postings, etc. and, had to change my password because I forgot it. And now it gives me access only to profile page. Everything else returns message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    Maybe delete the wp-content/cache folder then login. Of course if your password is really lost then you may have to reset your password.

    i’m having the same problem…looks like it logs me in but does not. circular. i reset the password but same thing. also, i don’t see a wp-content/cache folder!

    I’ve cleared the cache folder. Also, the password does not seem to be the problem since it seems to authenticate just fine. If I put in the wrong password it tells me. I put in the correct one and I just get the log in screen again.

    I followed all the different instructions on the support page, and none of them worked. Finally I just deleted my database and wordpress, reinstalled, ran install.php and yet… same problem. I am running fedora core 4 if that helps at all.
