• Hi, i need help, please. I also cannot log in as “username” is not reckognised. the following message appears.

“Sorry, that user does not seem to exist in our database. Perhaps you have the wrong username or e-mail address? Try again.”

I installed wordpress trough godaddy.com website which is my webhost. after installing, I managed to get on my page/wordpress and used login details that I was sent by email. this is when username is unknown.

  • Remember that username and password are case-sensitive.

Thus, “admin” (the default username) is not the same as “Admin” or “ADMIN”

thank you for your response, but I have tried all options -admin, Admin, ADMIN… and nothing.

    Are you both on godaddy?
Have either of you ever been able to log in to your blogs?

Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!

If I go on Login, the message above comes up. Is there a way of re-setting this thing or something?

    Thanks

to twenty5: did you download wordpress trough godaddy? i had to do it that way as it was not working at all when I downloaded from this site.

You guys might want to check this out:
    https://install4free.wordpress.com
They have done 100’s of godaddy installs.
Your problem likely is the one-click install. We’ve had to do away with several of those and do a fresh install because godaddy just doesn’t have it down, yet.
Plus, the last time I looked, they were behind in versions and thus you would have an insecure version.

thanks for this, however, I did go trough this (install4free) few days ago and was told to contact godaddy which I did yesterday and today and finally got to this stage (a bit further than I was few days ago). What I don’t understand is that I was sent (i suppose this is automated)an email with following:

Your new WordPress blog has been successfully set up at:

    https://gyocitygardener.co.uk/wordpress

You can log in to the administrator account with the following information:

    Username: admin
    Password: ******

We hope you enjoy your new weblog. Thanks!

    Password seems to be OK.

i think i will just delete everything and start all over….

    ANY suggestions!?!?! PLEASE!

I’ve did the same (first I downloaded the wordpress from this site, than deleted it and downloaded trough godaddy). aldough, as i said before, this did get me further, i cannot get into editing (cannot log onto wordpress).

same here… i spent LOTS of time to get into the Login page, and now that im there, I JUST CANT LOGIN….

    Help?

to “wordpress”: who has sent the email with “username” and “password”? and how do I change /reset this?

I’m also having trouble loging in I get this message – Sorry, that user does not seem to exist in our database. Perhaps you have the wrong username or e-mail address

My suggestion is to NOT use godaddy “One Click” install, and have your WordPress installed all over manually (upload files and setup the database). I am pretty sure you can find help on how to install your WordPress easily.
There are some topics on this, here several tutorials on the web.
I Found a very interesting video tutorial on Google.

Hope this helps on fresh install.
    Cheerz
