Cannot login after upgrade

  • I upgraded from WordPress 2.5.x to the latest 2.6.x.
    Now I cannot login to the dashboard.
    It keeps asking me for the password.

    I already have emailed me a new password, but this new password does not work, either.

    Additionally, the homepage is now blank.
    I have temporarily deactivated the plugin folder, because I got a lot of error merssages when I first tried to access the page.

    HOW DO I GET INTO THE ADMIN AREA AGAIN!

    already reset my password and tried the new one. When I log in with the new pass, it just takes me straight to the login page. When I type in a wrong pass, it takes me to the login page but shows “incorrect password”. So I suppose the password is correct, since when I type in the right one, it doesn’t show “incorrect password” error but just brings me to the login again.

    if the clear cache stuff does not work, then once again clear your cache, rename your plugins folder and try logging in again. You should then see a script asking you to upgrade the database. do that and rename the plugins folder back to plugins, and re activate our plugins and all should be fine

    I’m not sure if this is the right place to note a potential problem:

    I do have the same problem on _one_ of my blogs; The admin page (wp-admin/index.php) is accessed via a link on another (secired) page and redirects:

    https://domain.com/tracks/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdomain.com%2FTracks%2Fwp-admin%2Findex.php

    Just remove everything from and including “?” and it’s fine. Well, sort of. Even specifying “remember me” doesn’t work. I always have to remove the redirection.

    The other blog’s admin page can be accessed from it’s own pages, and works without redirection.

    The only difference I find: the first mentioned blog has been upgraeded from 2.2.3 to 2.6.3 in one shot; the other gre towards this version (2.2.3 -> 2.3 -> 2.6 -> 2.6.3).
