A few days ago I tried to login to one of my websites and when I enter the correct login credentials, it simply refreshes the page but does not take me into the backend of WordPress.

I have Wordfence installed which notifies me that I just logged into the site.

I’ve tried disabling the plugins and theme via FTP, deleting the .htaccess file….nothing works.

Reading online, something might be corrupt with the user so I want to manually add a new user via phpmyadmin.

When I login to phpmyadmin and click wp_users it shows my username. Looking at tutorials online, when I hit “Insert” it should look something like this.

    phpmyadmin

But instead, when I click “Insert” I get this blank screen

    phpmyadmin2

Something doesn’t seem right, I just don’t know what to do to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are ready to go live with the site.

Also, in phpmyadmin, if I click Edit on my username, I get a blank page like in the screenshot above instead of having each field show so this seems to be the issue, just not sure how to fix the user table?

Thanks, I’ve tried some of those options…working through the rest. Will post my results.

I have worked through the list on that page and am at the “Edit User Tables”. That’s where I run into a problem. When I click Edit in phpmyadmin, I’m not getting the options that I should.

Here is what I see when I click on wp_users

    phpmyadmin3

Here is what I see when I click “Edit” for that user.

From what I can see online, there are supposed to be options when I click “Edit” but there are not. Any ideas how to fix that?

Also, I enabled debug in the wp-config file and am receiving some errors at https://mission-glass.com/redesign/wp-login.php

FWIW, if I try and login with an invalid username / password, WordPress does provide a login error.

If I click wp_users and then double click on my username to try and edit it, when I change to a new username, I receive this error

    phpmyadmin4

Hoping this info helps provide some insight as to what might be going wrong and how to fix it.

Everything I’m seeing is leaning towards a database error, just do not know how to fix the database.

Also, if I click on “Forgot Password, I receive the following error:

Could not save password reset key to database.

I’m speaking with the webhost and it appears that they only allot 300MB for the database and we are over quota

    319.59 of 300 MB

He just optimized the database and it resolved the issue. Wow what a pain but I’m glad I got it fixed.

He exported the database and it was only 11MB so I’m not sure why their system saw it as 319.59MB.

Sorry for so many posts but I FINALLY got to the root of the problem.

After several hours of troubleshooting why I could not login to the website, I contacted their webhost, Network Solutions. Long story short, it was a problem on their end. Their system showed the database having a file size of 319 MB and they only allow 300 MB so that was why I could no longer login to the site.

Interestingly, when he exported the database, the actual file size for the database was only 11MB, not 319 MB so their system was showing the file size incorrectly.

He was able to fix the issue on their end and I was able to login and I am now able to login again!

    Thank you for your help.
