• Sidenote: Using theme “Responsive” and created a child theme for it.

    Hello All,

I have read several posts on this subject and have even tried the suggestions in the article on how to reset your password, and some other related articles to it using outside scripts to get it to work.

My site has been up for some time now and then this problem concerning logging in just began last week. When I go to the login page and enter my username and password, click the login button, it does not redirect me to the dashboard, the login screen appears again and the fields are blank. If I try clicking on the lost password button, and enter either my username or my email address, I get the following error: ERROR: Enter a username or e-mail address.

The database shows the correct information regarding username and email. Even my host has been trying to help me out, with no success so far. We’ve tried editing the functions.php in the theme I am using with no success. I’m at a complete loss here.

Is this an issue with the theme or is it a wordpress upgrade problem? I sure could use some answers that actually work.

An update to this. I have disabled all plugins one at a time by renaming them. Then tried to login. No luck. I disabled my theme by doing the same and I get an error about the front page not showing.

    I’m still working on this.

Another update. I disabled the responsive theme I was using as well as the child theme and used the default twentyfourteen theme in the phpmyadmin. Still cannot login to the site administrative area.

    Any suggestions, anyone?
