After attempting to delete it and getting the error I renamed the plugin (w3-total-cache) to disable it and received the following error when requesting the admin:
“W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /wp-content/advanced-cache.php.”
While there may be a conflict with another plugin this problem occurred when activating w3-total-cache, which I only went ahead with because it seemed to be a well-received plugin.
Since this started upon hitting activate, I assume it may have partially completed the original activation which impacted code in another file, but I have no clue what the file is other than advanced-cache.php which I cant find.
Everything was working fine on the new server until attempting this plugin activation.
Rather than going through a laborious task turning off numerous plugins, what is the safest way to restore my system back to its condition before I attempted to activate this plugin?
I have yet to look through the prior post links completely, is there one that you would recommend?
