Cannot login to site

  • I have tried logging in to my website, but WordPress does not recognize my email address/username. I only have three possible emails that I would have used to sign up, and none of them work. Meanwhile, my website is still up!

    What can I do? Thank you for any help!

    what did you do before this happened?

    have recently checked your server error logs?

    What WordPress version are using?

    What theme are using?

    Where attempting to update?

    Give folks here some more info to go by.

    Thank you… it’s a blog that I haven’t even updated, and if there is a “theme” it was the generic one. I created it a year ago, and last login was several months ago I think. I haven’t changed or touched anything on it. Not sure what version it is?

    Is there a difference between login information for a www.ads-software.com vs. a wordpress.com website? Because obviously I am logged in (right now) to www.ads-software.com, to access the forums, but my website is a .com address. If they are the same login information, why can I post in the forums but not login to my site?

    Is it possible I can’t login because it’s an “old” version? How would I update it, if that might help?

    the website address you provided shows that you are hosted by INMOTION hosting. which indicates to me that you are NOT using WordPress.com services.

    there is a way to get into your website database which can help you reset your password. this will require you to login to your INMOTION hosting account. Do you have access to your INMOTION hosting account?

    wordpress.com and www.ads-software.com are separate programs with separate support forums.

    Thank you! I will check with INMOTIONHOSTING.

    In the past, though, I *did* login through the WordPress admin page! My username/password for it is separate from my InMotionHosting login info. I can login to INMOTIONHOSTING just fine, but my WordPress login info does not work through WordPress login.

    Yes, that one.

    It does not recognize any of the 3 (and only 3) email addresses I would have used.

    I have contracted InMotionHosting, and hope they can help. I don’t know how they can reset my information on WordPress’ servers, though?

    some of the options require getting into the database controlling your website, inmotion hosting can help you find the right place to do that in your hosting account.
