Cannot login; website set up by ex-employee

Our website was set up by an ex-employee. We do not know the login details for the wordpress account, only the admin details for the site itself. We are going out of business so we would like to shut it down. We are still paying for the site, but without the ability to login, we can’t access any support services.
We cannot do the account recovery as we do not have access to any of the identification. We receive emails about updates from wordpress, but cannot find any with the transaction ID in them.
