• After plugin install, still cannot use Widget translations.
    Plugin is activated
WPML is with: WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation, WPML Media, WPML Translation Management.

When opened Widgets in admin, I see a message
Hey, I see WPML is not activated, please activate it before using WPML Widgets.
But as said – all these WPML plugins and addons are activated and working.
Even before “WPML Widgets” install the other widgets had the translation selection in widget bottom, but only WooCommerce widgets did’nt have.

I need this plugin, because WooCommerce Shop page cannot have widgets in the sidebar (categories and product search) associated for different languages.

    Hi,

The WPML Widgets plugin does a check to see if WPML is enabled. It does this by checking whether a certain plugin is in the list of active plugins.

WP saves this active plugin list based on the file directory of the plugin, in most cases this works great, but in some edge cases this can cause it to give it a false negative.

This could happen if the WPML folder/file name is anything different than “sitepress-multilingual-cms/sitepress.php” (there used to be some issues here regarding wrong named folder after a WPML update (contained version number)

If your folder is named differently, please rename it and then re-activate the plugin, and it’ll work ??

    Thank you,

    Thank you for reply.
Actually WPML is named differently as you have mentioned. But after renaming plugin directory I’ve got fatal error Fatal error: Class 'WPML_SP_User' not found in /home/parksol/domains/parksol.lt/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpml-translation-management221/classes/class-wpml-translation-management.php on line 5 so I the guess I can’t go through suggested path. Website is blocked.

    Hi,

Hmm, looks like the translation plugin doesn’t check if WPML is active (which is weird). I think if you disable all WPML plugins first (just to be sure it doesn’t conflict), then rename and re-activate all of them it should work.

What was the folder named for you?

    Thanks,
    Jeroen
