Cannot Modify Header Information PHP Error

    I’m making a custom theme for WP and whenever I visit my site by adding index.php to the URL (website.com/wp/index.php), it gives me this error:

    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at */wp/wp-content/themes/grantwp/functions.php:62) in */wp/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868

    However when I just visit the site normally (website.com/wp) and don’t add the index.php, everything works fine. Either way though, wp-admin is also broken.

    This is a fresh install of WP with no active plugins.
