Cannot open the website, Made a mista le with child theme

    Hello,
    I tried to create a child theme for F8 lite but eventually I made a mistake on style.css ; now after activating the theme on WordPress my website is broken and I only can see a white page.
    What can I do to save my work?

  • Use ftp or your Control Panel > File Manager for your website, either download the single file and correct the error, or rename the child theme folder to reset the default theme.

    After you have got your website up and running, you should either create a second database and WordPress install in another folder /test/ for testing, create a second database and upload WordPress to the new folder, then visit your website url “www.mysite.com/test/”

    Or the way I work is to use and test on a local install, I use InstantWP, and there is WAMPP, LAMPP and easyPHP

    Hello
    I tried to modify the file and to delete the child folder but with no result;
    Is it possible to change some strings in the settings of WordPress ?
    Otherwise I think I need to reinstall it again..

    thank you, I deleted the themes via ftp and I managed to see my website back: thank you!
