  • In the index.php file of the classic theme
    find the line calling for the comments template and replace it with this:
    <?php comments_template(); // Get wp-comments.php template ?>
    Notice, there NO wp- prefix!

    Thanks Moshu for your help, but the line is already exactly the same.
    What do you man with No wp prefix?
    Anyone other ideas?

    Check if you have a file called wp-comments-post.php in the root directory of your WP install.

    Yes, I have a file like that in the directory vertellingen.
    So, what then?

    Sorry, it was my mistake. The correct question is this: Why Wp is looking for your wp-comments-post.php file here:
    https://www.hoffmanns.nl/wp-comments-post.php ???
    In Options > General check the 2 URI’s whether they both have the vertellingen directory at the end.

    @lona: none of your links are working for me.

    Are you running Spam Karma? If so, turn it off in your plugin control panel and try posting a comment.

    options-general has the same directory at the end in both URI’s
    @ davincim: my links are correct. have no problem with them myself. I am not running Spam Karma either.

    Maybe I did something wrong here? Although we discussed it already, but I was doubting if I typed it correct:

    WordPress address (URI): https://www.hoffmanns.nl/vertellingen
    Blog address (URI): https://www.hoffmanns.nl/vertellingen
