    I have been using this plugin for several years on this site without any problems. All of a sudden, I am unable to publish new events. When I try to post a new event the only option I have is “Submit for Review”. Once I hit that, the event is listed as “Pending”. I think I have tried everything:

    • Running the latest free version of The Events Calendar (Version 4.9.0)
    • WordPress is up to date as is the theme (Divi) and plugins
    • Removed all plugins except The Events Calendar and problem was still there.
    • Changed theme and problem was still there.
    • Tried different users – did not help
    • Rolled my site back to a previous backup – did not help

    If anyone has encountered this, any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

  • I had the same problem while the “Classic Editor” plug-in was installed and activated. I deactivated this (very popular) plug-in and now data is saved for new events.
    I know you said you deactivated all other plug-ins, but this one step is what solved it for me; also using WP version 5.1.

    Ok, I was able to fix this. None of the other solutions worked for me. This is what I did:

    1. Although in the end I did not need these, I exported my events via the general WordPress export tool. Again, this was for a backup since I was going into uncharted territory. In the end, I did not have to import these files back into WordPress.
    2. Removed The Events Calendar plugin.
    3. Cleared site cache (if you don’t have a plugin that clears cache, this can probably be skipped).
    4. Installed WP-Optimize plugin and ran all the tools under the Database section.
    5. Closed browser and then reopened it and logged back into site.
    6. Installed The Events Calendar plugin.
    7. Everything was back to normal – fixed.
