Cannot Reclaim URL "…com/events"

  • I installed the plugin just now and created a few test events to try it out and it was nearly perfect. I went to remove and now the URL at “.com/events” is showing the home page instead of the custom page template it used to have, and still has assigned to it when choosing to edit via the dashboard.

    It also shows the homepage when deleting the page or when it’s recreated and assigned another of the custom page templates.

    Already ruled out the cache and browser specific troubleshooting. Even went as far as optimizing the SQL database and using the plugin Clean Options to remove anything extra.

    Yes, I know I can change to a different URL but there are backlinks going to “.com/events” so I’m trying to not think of that as an option.

    Have you tried clearing your permalinks by visiting Settings > Permalinks? What about deactivating all other plugins to check if anything else is conflicting with this?
