    Hi

I see we can edit the labels for the checkout fields, i.e. where it says First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Address, Email, etc but it appears these fields cannot be left blank. When I delete the label name and save, it just reverts back to the default.

Is this a bug with the plugin or something that hasn’t been implemented? I know it’s possible to hide these labels by adding php code to the functions file but it would be easier to do it via the plugin ??

    Hello Gemma Wild.

Thx for your feedback. I did a quick test just to be sure and I cannot confirm your statement. You can leave labels blank and they will not show up, at least on my test site.

I need to know which WooCommerce version you are using and which Poor Guys Swiss Knife plugin version. Could you please facilitate this information.

    Thanks.

There’s another key question: Do you use a theme which is customized for WooCommerce? If so, please check if your theme includes a folder called woocommerce. It’s possible that the problem is related with outdated template files for woocommerce packaged with your template.

    Hello Gemma Wild.

I will close this as I haven’t received an answer from your side. If you’ve solved the problem, great, if not please reply here within the next days. I will see your answer.

Strangely I’m having the same problem. I keep deleting what’s in the fields, but it reappears after saving every time.

    Hello A.M.M.

Ok. I did not check on this any further as there was no feedback from Gemma Wild. I did a quick test with some fields and the labels did not show up. As you’re the second person to complain, I will have a close look on this.

I’ve uploaded version 1.8.2 which fixes this partially for the WooCommerce Core fields. Why partially? Because core billing and shipping fields of WooCommerce and their behavior and layout is country specific. This means, when a customer switches the country on the checkout form labels for street, zip code, town may appear again.

The problem with core fields and country switching that WCPGSK presents now is related with a fix I provided which integrates with the WooCommerce necessities. A solution that respects both, the requirements of WooCommerce and the ability to suppress labels and placeholders is on the way. It’s possible, but it will take me a bit of time to provide a stable solution.

    Regards.
