Cannot remove [Show Slideshow] or change thumbnail dimensions

  • Hello,

    Using Gallery Settings, I am not able to remove the [Show Slideshow] link from my pages that contain NextGEN slideshows. I am also unable to change the dimensions of the thumbnails. In Gallery Settings these options remain selected when i save the settings, but these changes do not take any effect on my page.

    Updating settings to other plugins and to content on my website works perfectly, so it is just this plugin. I am running the latest versions of NextGEN Gallery and WordPress.

    Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

    @halgor – The [Show Slideshow] link is being set and displayed based on the setting under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails when you see it if you started from a NextGEN Basic Slideshow.

    As to the thumbnail sizes, what are you using to insert the slideshow with? Did you use the IGW or a shortcode?

    Thanks for your response. I did go through Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails and ‘Show slideshow link’ is set to ‘No’.

    Also, I have ‘Override thumbnail settings’ set to ‘True’, and 120 x 120 entered as thumbnail dimensions (it displays 120 x 90 as default I believe). I’ve done this for NextGEN Basic Thumbnails, NextGEN Basic Compact Album, and NextGEN Basic Extended Album (just in case).

    NextGEN Basic Compact (and Extended) Album is set to ‘Display galleries as: NextGEN Basic Thumbnails’.

    I used the ‘Attach NextGEN Gallery to Post’ button in the post text editor. The text field shows:

    I feel like your backend settings are very straight forward, it just isn’t registering my changes.

    @halgor – Are you using the template option for any of your galleries related to this (most but not all you just referenced)?

    I’m not using any of the legacy templates (the tooltip recommended against it, so I left the Template drop down blank).

    @halgor – Most, if not all, of the items you are describing are generally due to using a (NextGEN Legacy / custom) template versus the default.

    It may be best for you to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can have a look under the page and see if there is something else going on.

    We will need log in (and FTP) credentials for your WordPress installation, please include those with your Bug Report.
