Hi @vigyx, ya that doesn’t sound right at all. This is the first time this has been reported, so I don’t know what to tell you yet…

Could you help me get some more info about this error? (By the way, thanks for the YARPP and WP versions!) I’d like to know if there are any errors or warnings in the Javascript console. If you’re not familiar with how to check that, here’s how in Google Chrome:

    1. On the YARPP settings page, right click anywhere and then click “Inspect Element”
    2. In the window that opens up, click “Console”
    3. Click the gear icon on the right, then make sure “Preserve Log” is checked

Here’s a video showing those steps too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NGTqkiFR9WeIQJ3y8UNSAJSeWJ746E7_/view

Then try saving the settings again. Then please copy-and-paste the messages you see in the console window on the right.

Thanks for your help figuring out what’s going wrong with your install of YARPP.

Hello @mnelson4 , thank you for the fast reply and sorry for the late one on my side. I did enable Preserve Log and checked my console (multiple times after refresh and such) but nothing appears after I click “Save Changes”.

    What I’m trying to change:
Match threshold: From 3 to 2
Automatic Display Options: From List to Custom(Multilingual) .

It did work before, I’m 100% sure of that. I’ve used Multilingual after your update fixed my issue with the “Copy Templates” not copying. Suddenly I’m back to List view and the match threshold is 3.

The only new thing that I did was update WP to 5.5 (I think it was automatic actually)

If there is something else I can do let me know. I can give you private access to my website if needed. ??

    Kind regards,

Hi @vigyx since we haven’t heard back from you, we’re closing this issue. Feel free to reopen it — we would love to resolve this for you.

Hi @jeffparker Hope it’s okay to jump in here, but I’m having the same problem. I can’t save the changes I want. I’ve done the Preserve Log step too.

    Hi there. @50sense @jeffparker @mnelson4

The issue is still there and I downloaded a rollback plugin to check which update broke the save changes function. I can save changes below version 5.4.0 (included). Once I updated to 5.5.0 and above the button stopped working again. I hope this helps! WP ver. 5.6

Hi @vigyx knowing the issue happens on WP 5.5 and up helps a little, although when I test in WP 5.5 and up it still works ok, so there’s something else going on. So we need more info to fix this…
Could you please send us some more debug info? Here’s how:

To send WordPress generic debug info:
    1. on WordPress 5.1 and earlier, install the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin; on WordPress 5.2 and later skip this
    2. Go to the WordPress admin dashboard
    3. under “Tools”
    4. click “Site Health”
    5. click “Info” tab
    6. click “Copy info to clipboard”

To send us YARPP debug info,
    1. From WordPress admin dashboard, under “Settings” click “YARPP”
    2. Click “Help” in the top-right corner
    3. Click “Optional Data Collection” tab on the left
    4. Copy all the monospaced text
    Here’s a video: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1Nw3IaXhs_7RTlUdzB5iTeBcymwcIJOby

Paste the contents of both in here.
    Thanks!

Hello @mnelson4. I was talking about YARPP version 5.4 and below (included). I’m currently on WP 5.6.

    (@mnelson4)

Ah ok thanks for resolving that misunderstanding. Still, on my setup YARPP 5.4 is working, so there’s something different in yours that’s preventing it from working, so in order to fix the issue we need more information.
Could you please provide us with the WordPress and YARPP debug info I mentioned last time? That will really help figure out what’s going wrong.

Hey! I have installed this plugin, but having the same issues mentioned above. The button keeps spinning and the settings is not saved. Also nothing is shown in a console log.

    WP: 5.6.1
    YARPP: 5.10.2

Thanks for likewise reporting the issue.
Hmmmmm… this is really weird. Here’s another thought: what web browser (and extensions) and language are you using @korinektomas? I have a hunch those might be have clues…

I’ve been bashing my head against this issue for months now. I finally trial-and-errored it until I got it to work. It seems another plugin, Easy Forms for Mailchimp, was interfering with YARPP’s ability to save settings. I’m not sure why, and I don’t really want to dig into it any more than I have.

Anyway, I love the plugin and wanted to share my experience.

Sorry to hear about that @duckfloss, but thanks for reporting the conflicting plugin. I’m reproducing the problem and will hopefully have a fix soon…

I’ve identified the conflict and started a discussion with the developer of Easy Forms for MailChimp about a solution: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/preventing-yarpp-settings-from-saving/
