Since I updated to the latest 5.1 version, when I try to save a post or page, the error appears in the console and I can’t save anything, it stays stuck, any ideas?

TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘getAttribute’)
    at n.value

  • Hi @giotherev I am able to save or update posts and pages as expected.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles. If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”

It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health. On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off, and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.

I found the problem, there is a conflict with the plugin: EditorsKit

If that’s the case, please ensure that you update to the most recent version of EditorsKit, which was released today. If the problem persists with EditorsKit, please create a support ticket here:

By the way, I am the author of EditorsKit.

    Thank you.

Thank you for chiming in @munirkamal (and thank you for your awesome plugin!). Since this is coming from EditorsKit, I am going to mark this thread as resolved.

One more thing @giotherev, if you are using the latest version of the block editor (in other words, if you have the plugin active), you might want to try to deactivate it and use the “stable” version that comes with WordPress core.
