    Hello Team…
I’m having a serious issue with getting the images to appear when we share a link to our website, or facebook or our twitter accounts despite having set the default image in the SEO > Social panel and in the Social Panel within the post.

When I run the debugger I have the following error message

The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

Please see my attached screen captures that show the og:image meta data set in the post.

So far I’ve purged website cache, web server cache, uninstalled yoast and reinstalled Yoast. Im using the most current version of Yoast. I’ve purged the Facebook cache telling it to scrape again. I’ve explicitly specified an image in the social panel on the post, something I have never had to do before. In the past when sharing a post the featured image has been automatically detected.

I’m not using a CDN, this is happening across all browsers, I’m not using any minify plugins. It’s simply just not showing

Using WordPress 5.7.2. PHP version is 7.3. Yoast version is 16.5.

See attached screen captures and please advise on the next set of troubleshooting steps. Thank you kindly

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out and the helpful screenshots.

We viewed the page source of https://girlssoccernetwork.com/ and https://girlssoccernetwork.com/why-girls-quit-sports/ and we can confirm that the Yoast SEO plugin is outputting the correct open graph meta data, just as you have entered it into the Yoast SEO plugin.

However, it is strange that running the Facebook sharing debugger detects the meta data has missing.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support

Ok…we purchased the premium plugin. Amazingly it’s become (Somewhat) better. At least now within the social panel in the post editor the preview image is showing but it’s still not showing when we try to share the post to Facebook.

I’d like for your support team to take a look at this I don’t feel it’s my duty to troubleshoot this after purchasing a premium membership. How do we proceed with opening a support issue for you to do it

UPDATE…Enabled troubleshooting mode with the health check plugin. This has no effect on how FB is rendering a shared post. There’s no preview image. This is costing by client money they spend on marketing so the urgency is rather high. Please address it
