@djadan – If your database user does not have the ALTER privilege it can cause issues when updating from older versions (pre-2.0.57) as we changed how some of the image data is saved in the database which may manifest as the issue you are seeing.

OK – that would be right. What can I do to rectify this please?

@djadan – I would suggest rolling back to NextGEN Gallery 2.0.40 temporarily, then ensuring your database user has the ALTER privilege.

After that you should be able to update to the current version of NextGEN Gallery and everything should sort itself out. If not, then please submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a closer look at this.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with the Bug Report.

    Thanks!

OK – I have version 2.0.40 from your Other Versions link and I’ve uploaded that to the plugins directory. Do I disable 2.0.65, enable 2.0.40 then delete 2.0.65 ?
    Just so I’m sure.

    Thanks

@djadan – Upload version 2.0.40 over top of version 2.0.65 (you should not have multiple versions of the same plugin running on the same site).

Ensure you database user privileges are set correctly (defaulting to ALL works best) then update using the WordPress Updates interface to bring the NextGEN Gallery back to version 2.0.65.

Feel free to have the plugin deactivated during the process (it’s theoretically safer to do this and probably best in this case, but its generally not necessary).

    Hi Cais

That’s great. I got it updated as per your instructions.

    Thanks for your help.
