I’ve recently upgraded from 1.5.2 to 2.0.4. Before upgrade I took care of getting into use new versions of plugins which also support wp2. Upgrade went Ok without any errors and the site is up’n’running fine.

Except … that I can’t see the rich text editor when starting to write new article. Yes, I have checked the option “on” in my own user profile, but still it is not there.

    In database table wp_usermeta users meta_key rich_editing = true.

However, one thing I’m suspecting is that I had usermeta plugin (ver 0.4) installed in wp1.5. Not using it any more. Can this be the cause for the problem? In usermeta’s documentation (https://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/Usermeta) it is stated that versions 0.1 and 0.2 are problematic, but newer should be ok.

If it is not usermeta, what could be the problem?

  • What OS and browser are you using?

If Safari, I know for sure it won’t work.
If Firefox, make sure you’re not running any of the javascript blocker extensions.

You guessed it right, I’m using Safari. A quick download and check with Firefox showed that it is working just fine with it.

So, is this Safari incompatibility going to be fixed any time soon? Or is there some other way of getting same functionality — any good plugins in mind?
