• Hi all, I created a group called greengroup that has a greenrole affiliation. I then tied the greenuser to the greenrole.

My goal is to lockdown the Green Page so that only the GreenUser can modify it.

If I login as the greenuser I cannot modify any page including the Green Page. I updated the permissions to allow edit others posts but now I can edit any post.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

  • I have exactly the same problem.
I have setup a set of pages that form a directory of scout groups.
This set of pages resides in a members area and I have a group members to allow read access. I then want to allow specific individuals edit access to their own Scout Group page but using a UAM group with editor access and the user with any access lower than editor but assigned to both the members group and the edit group for the scout group, they only get read access, The moment I up the access to editor they can edit everything.
Reading the information this should be possible but it doesn’t work.

I think this is related to WordPress roles capabilities. Authors can edit their own posts, but not others. Editors can edit all posts. Contributors can edit own posts but not publish. Look at the codex. You need to use a capability plugin to edit your role’s capabilities according to your requirements. Maybe adapting them to those matching author will help.
